June 2005               Monthly Homeowners Meetings

The MCCIA board meeting was held on Thursday, June 9, 2005 - 7:00PM at the Fire Station on Landry. Board members Linda Benge, Jill Chumley, Jennifer Moorhead, Ken Schiller and Mikel Fontana were present. Leigh Pollard was present to represent Sterling Association Service.

Minutes from the May 2005 meeting were reviewed and approved with corrections. The board reviewed and approved the monthly management and collection reports for the period ending May 31, 2005.

Deed restriction violations were reviewed and Sterling Association Services was requested to forward letters on all violations approved. Residents are requested to contact the Sterling ASI at 281-447-3388 if they have questions or updates on deed restrictions. Failure to address the issue could lead to attorney fees. Residents are encouraged to contact the association to discuss any question regarding deed restriction issues.

The board discussed the 2005 pool opening party. The day was a hot one but turned out to be a great day for fun in the sun. Local residents donated items that were given out at door prizes during the pool party. Residents are reminded to please participate in the MCCIA "FREE MONEY" programs. Local retails, Kroger and Randalls donate 1% of purchase to the association and 100% of the money collected is used to purchase gifts and door prizes that are given out to all ages during the pool party. Mikel reported that all request for pool tags had been completed and residents need pool tags can request them online or by calling Sterling ASI. Pool tags will be delivered within 48 hours after the Board of Directors receives the request.

MCCIA residents can rent the pool area (during closed hours) for private parties. The cost of lifeguards is $ 40.00 per hour plus, MCCIA requires a $100.00 deposit. For more information email mccia@memorialchasecia.com .

Tennis Court repairs and resurfacing are wrapping up and the courts will be open for the use by MCCIA residents. Guidelines and rules for the use of the court areas have been posted. No prevent damage to the court surface no bikes, roller blades, skateboards or shoes with wheels will be allowed in the court area. No group activities are permitted without prior written approval from the Board of Directors.

The board reviewed the collection report and has requested that all past due accounts be turned over to the association attorney. The board is working to revise the current collection policy and discuss the addition of a late fee for past due accounts to be applied in 2006. Residents will be advised of any changes to this policy.

The board discussed a question for residents on the collection of trash in the neighborhood. The current guidelines provided by Republic Waste are posted on the association web site. If you have any questions regarding trash service you can contact Republic Waste or the Water District # 119 as they have the contact for trash collection in the neighborhood.
